How to Attach Files
There are three ways to attach files to a message:
- Paperclip icon — Click the paperclip button in the composer to open the file picker.
- Drag and drop — Drag files directly into the chat window.
- Clipboard paste — Copy an image or screenshot, then paste with Cmd+V (Mac) or Ctrl+V (Windows).
Previews
Once attached, files appear as thumbnail previews above the composer input area. Click the X on any thumbnail to remove it before sending.
Using Attachments in Conversations
The AI can read and analyze attached content. For example:
- Upload a screenshot and ask "What's happening in this image?"
- Attach a PDF lecture and ask "Summarize the key points"
- Send a JSON file and ask "What data structure is this?"
- Share a code file (.txt or .md) and ask "Find the bug in this code"

Tip: Upload a screenshot of a problem or a lecture PDF for instant AI analysis. Tesseract can read and reference the contents in its response.
